hsbc

there are many qualities at that bank.
Access to FinanceMost of the UK's SMEs are able to access the finance they require but we recognise that some new businesses, those in the technology sector and others without the assets to support conventional lending may find it more difficult. We support a number of initiatives to support such firms. We have also examined the lending we undertake to our business customers in deprived communities. Find out more.
Support for customers in financial difficultyHSBC subscribes to both the Business Banking Code and the Statement of Principles set out in the British Banker's Association leaflet 'Banks and Businesses: Working Together When You Borrow'. The Business Banking Code is a voluntary code which set standards of good banking practice for banks and building societies to follow when they are dealing with business customers in the United Kingdom. The code may be accessed at www.bankingcode.org.uk. The Statement of Principles show how banks will seek to work together with small and medium sized businesses to get the relationship right from the outset and to help if the business gets into difficulties. The Statement of Principles may be accessed at www.bba.org.uk.
In accordance with the Code, we will consider cases of financial difficulty sympathetically and positively. If you are in difficulties, you can also get help from the national Business Debtline. This is a free, confidential and independent helpline, funded by HSBC, for people who have cashflow and debt problems. The helpline is staffed Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm. A 24-hour answering service operates outside these hours and when lines are busy. Their number is 0800 197 6026.

HSBC provides a range of material to support new firms, such as business factsheets and profiles, as well as a highly regarded Business Support Helpline.
